Yesterday, Speicher Fire Department got a glimpse of the wrath of God. The biggest and toughest fire I've ever dealt with started early Wednesday morning. I fought fire with my fellow firefighters for hours on end. Her force was fierce and unforgiving. Despite our efforts, there was nothing that would calm the beast. After 14 hours and utter exhaustion we finally made headway. Enough to get some rest, anyway. Today, I am giving thanks for those that, even when losing the battle, don't lose faith.
That picture is amazing!! So this was the biggest fire you have ever fought???? I REALLY want to hear about it and your impressions of everything. Where was this fire? How did it start? 14 hours......................WOW I like your ending statment, "even when losing the battle , don't lose faith." Very true statment for so many facets of Life.
